Social Welfare

All of the social benefits detailed below are funded with 6.5% of the funds raised by the DAC under the Directors and Audiovisual Authors' Rights.

For us, social welfare equals solidarity.

Our motto is:

“Authors’ rights account for a director’s salary and their pension upon retirement”.

Same as we did in 2012, we will continue offering and improving social benefits to each director in 2013.

This year, while the Government increased pensions by 30% through the Pension Act, we improved the social benefits by 50% thanks to the increase in fundraising results.

ALLOWANCES

Family Allowance

In an attempt to have "all children born with a silver spoon on their mouths”, the DAC’s Board of Directors instructed the Social Welfare Secretariat to grant a one-time allowance to every member who has a child, including adoption.

Pension Allowance

A monthly payment is made to pensioners above 65 years old whose retirement pension is below AR$ 8,000. Our aim is to provide assistance to the members who are in need, so we encourage beneficiaries to consider their economic situation before applying for such allowance. The Social Welfare Council will examine each member’s application based on their needs, their seniority, the works to be managed and other merits. The allowance will be granted upon submission of the beneficiary’s retirement pension receipt, their address and DNI (Argentine Identity Document) in writing to the Social Welfare Secretary.

Health Benefits

After attending multiple meetings and interviews with several health insurance companies, both government-run and private, the Social Welfare Secretariat suggested that the DAC’s Board of Directors should not partner any health insurance in particular, thus leaving the choice of their own plan and quality criteria to the discretion of each member. For these and other reasons, it was decided to grant a monthly allowance to each member to contribute to the payment of their government-run or private health insurance plan.

In order to receive this allowance, each member must submit any kind of supporting documentation (receipt, invoice, etc.) evidencing the medical expenses incurred and an application for this purpose to the Social Welfare Secretary, who will decide on a case-by-case basis.

PENSIONS

Temporary or Permanent Disability Pension

It is a monthly contribution made to DAC Members and/or their direct relatives, spouse and children.

In order to be eligible for this benefit, an application must be submitted to the Social Welfare Secretary together with the beneficiary’s medical certificate, address and DNI (Argentine Identity Document).

Survivor’s Benefit

It is a monthly contribution made to the spouses of DAC Members who died during the last three years.

In order to become eligible for this benefit, a note addressed to the Social Welfare Secretary must be submitted together with a copy of the death certificate, address and DNI (Argentine Identity Document) of the beneficiary.

LOANS

Personal Loans

TheDAC’s Board of Directors offers a personal loan to all DAC Members through the Social Welfare Secretariat to help them overcome any trouble or to assist them in the purchase of anything that they need.
